Run for Carter!

March 11, 2024 was not the (birth)day that we had written down in our calendar for Carter’s arrival. But surprisingly, this day brought us our GREATEST joy and SWEETEST blessing! Learning that we would have our son prematurely, turned our world upside down. We were scared and full of worry. But with the help of our village, constant prayers, loads of journaling, and being assigned to the best team of doctors and nurses at Novant Health, we made it through our NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit) journey.

Run 3:11 is just a simple way for us to give back and honor the NICU journey of all families that fought, and continue to fight, to bring their little one home. Although our journey was not easy, we’re glad to share that Carter is growing, thriving, and happy as can be!

On September 1, 2024, Curtis and I will [Run for Carter] in the Around the Crown 10K, and we’re dedicating our miles to Carter (our son and NICU champ), and to all of the NICU families around the world! #NICUAwarenessMonth #RunforNICUbabies #Run311

With Madelyn’s Fund, families have access to funding for commuting to and from the hospital, meals, baby supplies, and so much more. We do encourage everyone to support your local NICU to help provide care for families.
